13 point inspection
  1. Opening the case and performing a complete cleaning of the inside. Fans that get plugged with dirt can cause heat to build up inside which in turn can harm your internal components. Heat is NOT your computers friend!
  2. Clean your mouse and keyboard with compressed air.
  3. Inspect all fans and heat sink to ensure proper operation and that they are free from dirt and debris.
  4. Check the positioning of expansion cards to ensure they are seated properly. Thermal expansion (caused by heat) can happen when you have internal components heating and then cooling which can cause components such as chips to change position.
  5. Ensure that all drives are functioning properly (to include CD, DVD and floppy).
  6. Verify that all internal external cables are properly seated and connected.
  7. Run a scan disk on the hard drive and check amount of drive space that is left available.
  8. Update or upgrade your anti-virus software.
  9. Install anti-spyware/malware software.
  10. Run a full scan of the system for spyware/malware.
  11. Removal of unused or unneeded software.
  12. Registry cleaning.
  13. A ventilation and airflow evaluation to ensure proper air flow through your computer.
